As I prepared for my zoom call with some therapeutic clown clients this afternoon my partner said, "Have Fun!" And I heard myself saying in return, "I'll sure try, I'm being paid to!" Then as I warmed up with my partner just before the shift began and my clown said see you later to theirs as they went to "fetch their managers," I got this jolt of gratitude. It's a beautiful privilege to be able to work with another clown and literally be paid to have fun. There are ups and downs, like with any other job. But being permitted, even expected, to inhabit the most joyful, free and playful part of myself is a rare privilege.
